Fort Jackson

is a historic fort that is very interesting to look at, but is no longer intact. There is a visitor center nearby with a great view of the Mississippi River.

Neat location, easy to walk around, we had the place to ourselves.

Great spot to stop and view en route to Venice or surrounding areas. Gate was locked, and would have liked to have wandered around inside. The most outside was really cool. Would make for a great area to take some sunset style pictures with all of the trees. Will come back to investigate more when I have additional time.

I had the pleasure of touring this landmark on a lovely Saturday afternoon, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by passionate guides who were eager to share their knowledge. The guided tour was the highlight of my visit; the guide had a knack for storytelling and made the history come alive! I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the preserved areas, giving us a glimpse into the past. The only downside was the lack of clear signage directing visitors to different sections, which could be improved upon for a smoother experience. Despite this, I left with a newfound appreciation for the area's history and can't wait to return with friends to share the experience. It’s a hidden gem that everyone should check out.

I recently visited this historical landmark and was absolutely blown away by the rich history it holds. The moment I stepped onto the grounds, I felt transported back in time. The exhibits are well-curated and truly informative; I loved the interactive displays that allowed me to learn more about the local history. The staff was friendly and eager to share stories, making the experience even more engaging. One minor suggestion would be to add more seating areas around the exhibits for those who might need a break while exploring. Overall, a fantastic place to visit and a perfect spot for history buffs like me!

What a fantastic experience at this historical site! I took my family there, and everyone had a blast learning about the area's history. The storytelling from the staff was engaging and really brought the past to life. The scenery around the landmark is stunning, making it a great spot for some family photos. I do wish there were more hands-on activities for the kids, as they enjoyed the history but would have loved to interact more with the exhibits. However, this minor issue didn't take away from our overall experience. We left feeling inspired and educated. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to spend a day immersed in history!
